2021 Toyota Highland Hybrid

The 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is available in four trim levels: the LE, XLE, Limited, and high-end Platinum. The LE offers features such as heated power mirrors, LED headlights, and 18-inch painted alloy tires. The XLE comes with 18-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, a black front grille with silver paint surround, and a lower black bumper. The Limited upgrades to a dark gray metallic finish bumper, a chrome spoiler, and 20-inch chrome wheels.

The Platinum trim is equipped with rain-sensing windshield wipers, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic view moonroof. You'll also find a hands-free power liftgate, a rear bumper scuff plate, a black-painted grille with chrome surround, and a silver front bumper.

Under the hood, you'll find a powerful, fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. This 2.5-liter double overhead cam was designed with an injection Atkinson cycle engine and intelligent dual variable valve-timing technology. An electric motor controls the intake to deliver up to 243 combined horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, creating an impressive fuel economy that saves you both time and money at the pump.

Choosing a hybrid doesn't mean that the Highlander sacrifices when it comes to performance. Selectable hybrid drive modes allow you to choose from ECO, Sport, EV Mode, and Normal so that you can match your driving style to your environment. The standard front-wheel-drive system can be swapped for all-wheel drive to supply extra traction. The Star Safety System provides you with an enhanced stability vehicle control system, traction control, and brake assist. Other amenities included are smart-stop technology, an anti-lock brake system, and electronic brake-force distribution.

Settling in behind the steering wheel just got a lot easier. The LE trim has features such as fabric-trimmed seating for eight passengers who'll enjoy the audio plus system alongside an 8-inch touch screen with wireless phone capability. The XLE provides seven-passenger seating with a SofTex finish, a backup camera with path projection, and a wireless smartphone charging station.

The Limited trim offers a heated leather steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a cargo area tonneau cover. The Platinum upgrades to premium finishes such as leather seating with heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seating, and three-zone automatic climate control. A premium navigation system adds a 12.3-inch touch-screen display, built-in dynamic navigation, and a JBL sound system.

Toyota's famous safety features continue with the 2021 Highlander Hybrid. You'll find the Toyota Safety Sense program which includes an array of advanced driver-assistance features. These include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, and a lane departure alert.
