2022 Toyota Avalon

The 2022 Toyota Avalon is a full-size sedan offered in three trim levels: XLE, Touring, and Limited. From the outside, the vehicle shows off a sporty front end with aggressive lighting and an oversized front grille with aerodynamic venting. Standard exterior features on the XLE trim include automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, and dual exhaust with chrome tips.

The mid-level Touring trim tacks on a sport sound-tuned exhaust and quad chrome exhaust tips, 19-inch black-painted alloy wheels, a power moon roof, and upgraded side mirrors with auto-dimming functionality on the driver's side. With the top Limited trim, you get a special set of super-chrome 18-inch wheels.

Beneath the hood of the Avalon, you'll find a capable 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The Avalon is also offered with a hybrid powertrain, although it's considered to be a separate model with its own set of trim levels and features.

The 2022 Avalon provides a great driving experience for both performance- and comfort-minded drivers. The V-6 engine gets up and going quickly, providing impressive power and acceleration. The brake pedal feels consistent without being overly jumpy to bring the car to an effective stop. Although this model doesn't offer an especially sporty ride, it handles well in a range of driving conditions. It really shines on longer road trips, thanks to the comfort of the cabin and the ride.

This spacious model fits drivers and passengers of all heights comfortably, while the soft-touch materials provide an upscale feel. Standard comfort features include simulated leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The tech bundle also includes an eight-speaker sound system, four USB ports, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, satellite radio, and a 9-inch touch screen.

With the Touring trim, features include a heated steering wheel with memory settings, upgraded front seats with ventilation, heated rear seats, and aluminum trim. This model also includes integrated navigation, wireless device charging, and a 14-speaker premium JBL sound system. The top Limited trim comes with wood trim and an upgraded steering wheel.

All three trim levels of the 2022 Toyota Avalon include Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which bundles top-rated active safety features. These include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and road sign assist. Additional standard features include lane-tracing assist, lane-departure warning with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.
