2022 Toyota Camry

The 2022 Toyota Camry comes in six trim levels: LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, and TRD. Exterior equipment on the base LE trim includes automatic bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, a dark gray front grille, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SE trim adds a few sporty upgrades, including unique trim elements and larger 18-inch wheels. If you want a sleeker look, choose the SE Nightshade Edition to get blacked-out trim, a black rear spoiler, and distinctive 18-inch wheels.

With the XLE, standard features include upgraded LED headlights, side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, dark gray wheels, and touch sensors in the door handles to lock and unlock the vehicle. The XSE has some sporty features as well, such as dual exhaust, 19-inch wheels, and a glossy-black front grille. Choose the top TRD trim to get aerodynamic trim elements, a sport exhaust, and black-painted side mirrors and trim.

The standard engine in the base trim is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit that produces 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The XSE trim has a specially tuned version of that engine that's rated at 206 horsepower. You can also get a more powerful 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. This unit comes standard on the top TRD trim. The Camry is further offered with a hybrid powertrain, although that version is considered a separate model.

With the four-cylinder engine, the Camry delivers impressive fuel efficiency, but the V6 engine boasts quicker acceleration, so buyers can decide what's more important to them as they choose a vehicle. All trim levels perform well in everyday driving, while the sportier models provide improved handling. The top trim is the most capable of the bunch when it comes to driving performance, thanks to its upgraded sport-tuned suspension and standard V6 engine.

The cabin of the Camry is spacious and comfortable in both rows of seating. Standard interior features include cloth upholstery, a power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a 7-inch touch screen. With the SE and SE Nightshade Edition, additional features include simulated leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Choose the XLE to get leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, heated front seats, rear air vents, a larger 9-inch touch screen, and wireless device charging. You get all those features with the XSE, along with metallic interior trim, while the TRD adds specialty upholstery and red accents.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 comes standard across the board, which bundles a long list of active safety features. These include forward collision mitigation, road sign detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. An optional Driver Assist package bundles rear automatic braking, a head-up display, and a 360-degree camera.
