2022 Toyota Highlander

The Highlander lineup has a trim to meet any need. It starts with the L with LED headlights and Smart Key System and moving to the XLE with a power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Then there’s the Platinum trim with a power panoramic view moonroof option, the 20-inch alloy wheels, height-adjustable hands-free power liftgate, and a bird’s eye view camera with dynamic gridlines.

The Limited trim comes with 20-inch chrome-finished wheels and color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with turn signal and blind spot warning indicators. Choosing the XSE gets you 20-inch machine-face allow wheels and sport-tuned independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar; trailing-wishbone suspension.

Every 2022 Highlander gets power from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that puts out 295 horsepower and generates 263 pound-feet of torque. It works with Toyota's five-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive options. Vectoring all-wheel drive is also available for the XSE, Limited, and Platinum trim levels.

The Highlander is the epitome of power and smoothness, and with the XSE’s sport-tuned suspension. This trim has retuned shock absorbers for a smoother on-road ride, and it comes with higher-rate springs and rear stabilizer bar to give enhanced handling on the road. The Highlander comes with three distinct drive modes, multi-terrain select, and available dynamic torque vectoring all-wheel drive.

The Highlander comes standard with three-row seating and room for eight. Cabin features include a power-adjustable driver's seat and three-zone automatic climate control. Moving up in trims adds a leather-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel and 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. The high-end XSE adds even more extras such as SofTex- or leather-trimmed front and second-row seats.

Technology features for the Highlander start with Toyota's infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and five total USB ports. Higher trim levels add Audio Plus with 8-in touchscreen and Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging with charge indicator light.

Every 2022 Highlander comes with the Toyota Safety Sense group of safety aids. Safety Sense comes with pre-collision system with low-light pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and lane tracing assist. It also comes with road sign assist and automatic high beam headlights. High trim levels offer blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking.
