2022 Toyota Sequoia

The SR5 starts the Sequoia line up with 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, LED headlights and fog lights, and heated side mirrors. The TRD Sport adds 20-inch TRD Sport wheels, black exterior trim elements, a roof rack, and sport-tuned Bilstein dampers. Step up to the TRD Pro to add skid plates, Rigid Industries LED fog lights, 18-inch BBS wheels, and black running boards, or to the Limited for 20-inch wheels and chrome exterior trim elements. The Platinum sits at the top of the Sequoia lineup with an adaptive air suspension, a chrome grille, 20-inch wheels with silver accents, and chrome side mirrors with integrated puddle lamps.

The Nightshade Special Edition Sequoia is the most recent addition to the Sequoia lineup and gives the SUV a more aggressive look with black 20-inch wheels and dark chrome and black exterior trim.

Every Sequoia comes standard with a 5.7-liter V-8 gas engine. It develops 381 horsepower and generates 401 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission works with the V-8 to smoothly get the large SUV up to speed, and most trims come with rear-wheel drive while offering all-wheel drive as an option. The TRD Pro and the Platinum come standard with four-wheel drive.

The Sequoia's engine has plenty of power for quickly getting it off the line, and will easily accelerate to highway speeds and confidently pass when needed. When equipped, it can tow up to 7,400 pounds.

There's room for up to eight in the Sequoia — seven if you get the second-row captain's chairs. Every trim has three-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Premium Package for the SR5 adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power passenger seat, which all come standard in the Limited. The top-level Platinum adds to this with heated and ventilated front seats and upgraded perforated leather upholstery.

The technology in the Sequoia starts with a 7-inch touch screen that works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – it also has satellite radio and an eight-speaker stereo. The Limited adds integrated navigation, and the TRD Pro has a 14-speaker stereo system. Bumping up to the Platinum will get you a rear-seat entertainment system with a Blue-Ray player and a 9-inch screen.

Every 2022 Sequoia comes with Toyota's Safety Sense P suite of driver aids. It bundles systems such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detecting, and automatic braking. It also includes lane-departure alert and automatic high beam headlights. A blind-spot monitor is a standard safety system, along with a rear cross-traffic alert, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and trailer-sway control.
