2022 Toyota Tacoma

There's a Tacoma for every driving need. The base SR has 16-inch steel wheels and power-adjustable side mirrors with heat and the SR5 adds alloy wheels, chrome trim, and the option for all-terrain tires. Step up to the TRD Sport for 17-inch wheels, a hood scoop, a sport-tuned suspension, and fender flares, or to the TRD Off-Road for 16-inch wheels, textured black fender flares, a chrome rear bumper, and Bilstein off-road shocks. The Limited has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, a sunroof, and a silver grille.

For the most off-road capable Tacoma, choose the TRD Pro. It has 16-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, an upgraded exhaust, and LED headlights.

The SR and the SR5 get their power from a 2.7-liter four-cylinder gas engine that develops 159 horsepower. The rest of the Tacomas have a 3.5-liter V-6 that puts out 278 horsepower. If you want this more potent engine with entry-level trims, it is available as an option. Both powertrains use a six-speed automatic transmission.

While the Tacoma is an excellent all-around pickup truck, it's even better if you use it for off-road driving. The extra lift for the TRD models gives it even more ground clearance along with better angles for approach and departure. The TRD models also have Multi-Terrain Select to help it make the most of any off-road conditions, and the available crawl control system works like off-road cruise control.

The Tacoma has room for up to four or five, depending on the cab. Stepping up from the base to the SR5 gets you a power-adjustable driver's seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the Limited has leather upholstery. Technology features include an 8-inch touch screen on the SR5, which also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and three USB ports. You'll get a 120-volt outlet in the TRD Sport's bed along with wireless charging and the option for a navigation system and a JBL stereo. Integrated navigation comes standard in the Limited, and this trim also has an upgraded JBL stereo system.

Every Tacoma comes standard with advanced safety systems. Even the base SR has a forward collision alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The Technology Package is optional for the SR5 with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. This package adds rear parking sensors for the TRD Sport, and you'll also get the option for the Advanced Technology Package with a 360-degree surround-view camera. The Limited comes standard with the blind-spot monitor, parking sensors, and the surround-view camera, and the TRD Pro has the blind-spot monitoring system.
