2023 Toyota Corolla

The 2023 Toyota Corolla is strong and streamlined with a low-rounded profile. Arrowhead-shaped lights and a wide, low grille give it more of an aggressive feel than past models have had. Three models are available: the LE, SE, and XSE, each with a hybrid or gas option. The LE comes with 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights and automatic LED daytime running lights, and a gloss black grille. Upgrades include a power tilt/slide moonroof, LED fog lights, 18-inch wheels, a two-tone paint scheme, and a lighting package.

Gas models use the 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine, which lives up to its name with four cylinders, 169 horsepower, and 151 pound-feet of torque. In addition, the engine has a 13-1 compression ratio and 40% thermal efficiency, doing more with less to give drivers sports-car power and style. Hybrid models come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque for great fuel efficiency and performance.

The 2023 Corolla has a continuously variable transmission for gas models with front-wheel drive. Normal and Eco drive modes are included, with Sport mode available as an upgrade. Hybrid models have electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and hybrid all-wheel drive. Electric power steering reacts based on the vehicle's speed, while an electric parking brake makes for easy and safe parking.

Toyota puts comfortable fabric sports seats in the Corolla interior. Both driver and passenger seats feature six and four adjustable directions, respectively. The tilt/telescopic steering wheel has a host of controls, and leather is available as an upgrade. An 8-inch touchscreen provides audio and entertainment, including six speakers and voice controls. It's compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. The 4.2-inch multi-information instrument display shows statuses and controls, and the car features USB ports and a 12-volt outlet. Keyless entry is also included.

For those looking to upgrade, available options include a 7-inch display, an eight-speaker sound system with premium JBL audio, and wireless phone charging. Extra comfort options include heated and SofTex synthetic leather-trimmed seats, as well as eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat.

The Corolla comes fully equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense system. Lane departure alerts, lane-tracing assistance, proactive driving assist, road sign assist, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams are all included. Adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation are also built in separately.

In addition, the separate Star safety system increases traction and braking control with a four-wheel anti-lock brake system, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, Smart Stop Technology, hill start assist, and enhanced vehicle stability and traction control. Rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive headlights, and a blind-spot monitor are optional. With lots of practical features and flashy outfitting, the Corolla can be the perfect car to navigate through each day with a bit of style.
