2023 Toyota GR86

The entry-level GR86 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip rear differential, heated and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors, and keyless entry. The Premium adds to this with 18-inch alloy wheels, high-performance summer tires, a color-keyed duckbill-style rear spoiler, and adaptive headlights. The new Special Edition model stands out from the other models with 18-inch matte black forged alloy wheels and racing stripes for contrast on the exclusive Solar Shift exterior paint.

Every 2023 Toyota GR86 gets power from a 2.4-liter boxer four-cylinder engine that puts out 228 horsepower. It comes with rear-wheel drive and works with a six-cylinder manual transmission, but you can opt for a six-speed automatic.

The four-cylinder engine provides the GR86 with the perfect amount of power. The small coupe is easy to drive and handles the road with finesse. It will propel up to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds and can run the quarter-mile in 14 seconds if you have the manual transmission. Depending on which transmission you have, there are either three or four driving modes. The automatic has three drive modes, and the manual transmission adds an extra track mode for when you want to test its performance on the racetrack.

The GR86 has a small rear seat, but it's more suited for luggage than people. If you fold down the rear seat, you'll have some usable cargo space. This sports coupe comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, power door locks, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Premium adds aluminum pedals, sport seats with additional leather bolstering, heated front seats, and simulated suede upholstery. The Special Edition adds Special Edition badging in the cabin.

The technology features in the GR86 start with a 7-inch digital instrument panel cluster with a configurable screen that provides information about track lap times and G-force readings, an 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also comes with two USB ports, Toyota's connected services, and a six-speaker stereo system. The Premium upgrades the stereo to an eight-speaker system with an amplifier and offers a 200-watt subwoofer for those who want to improve the sound quality.

Every 2023 Toyota GR86 has several advanced driver aids as standard equipment with the automatic transmission. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane-departure warning. The Premium adds to this list with a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking.
