4 Best Toyotas for Water Enthusiasts

best toyota for water enthusiasts in chesapeake va
Whether you prefer the lake or the ocean, you'll need just the right vehicle to get you there. Toyota offers a wide range of vehicle with features that you can use to get yourself, your passengers, and all your gear to the water. Here are some of the best Toyotas for water enthusiasts.

The Toyota RAV4

The Toyota RAV4 compact SUV is a great choice for almost any adventure. You can choose either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive to get you up over the back roads to the lake or cruise along the coastal highway to the beach. There is plenty of cargo space in the 2017 RAV4 as well — 38.4 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up and 73.4 cubic feet when you lay the rear seats flat. This space gives you plenty of room to load up your beach chairs and beach toys for the kids for a day of fun in the sun.

The Toyota Tundra

If a day on the water means getting your boat there too, the Toyota Tundra is what you need. The 2017 models come standard with a tow hitch receiver, and when equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 engine, it can tow over 10,500 pounds. This makes it easy to tow almost any size boat you want to bring to water. You can choose between a regular cab, double cab, or CrewMax and either a standard bed or a long bed for the space you need to haul your gear. The Tundra also comes with Toyota's Entune Audio system to help make your ride more entertaining and a whole suite of safety features to help get you there safely.

The Toyota Prius Prime

The new Prius Prium will help you get to the water without having to stop for gas. With a complete range of over 600 miles and an EV range of 22 miles, you can live hours from the beach and still get there without spending a lot on fuel. The Prius Prime uses a combination of a 1.8-liter Atkinson engine and two electric motors powered by an 8.8-kilowatt lithium ion battery. It can get to a top speed of 84 miles per hour, and it charges the battery while you drive in just two hours.

The Toyota Sequoia

A trip to the water often means bringing the whole gang. The Toyota Sequoia is a three-row SUV with either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive that will get everyone to the water. Keep the seats up to haul passengers, or lay them down to expose 120.1 cubic feet of cargo space — enough for almost any kind of gear you need to bring. The Sequoia comes standard with a roof rack complete with crossbars so you can get your surfboard or your kayak up there no matter what the size. If your weekend adventure involves getting to the water, Toyota has a vehicle that will make the ride possible. Whether you want to save money on gas or haul a week's worth of gear to the beach, you can do it in a Toyota. Image via Flickr by JesusAbizanda
