Toyota is one of the biggest automakers in the world today. The company boasts over 80 decades of existence and has collected numerous accolades for car safety, innovation, and the integrated use of technology in its vehicles over the years. It's not surprising, then, that the latest Toyota concept cars are so impressive. Here's a look at two of the newest innovations that Toyota has announced, the Concept i Walk and Concept i Ride vehicles. Overview of Concept i Toyota's Concept i cars are made especially for people with low mobility. These futuristic looking vehicles boast AI agents that drivers navigate roads, provide direction, and monitor driving behavior so that a tailored driving experience can be customized. more Concept i Walk ‐ Personal Mobility Vehicles In a bid to make this world as inclusive and disability‐friendly as possible, Toyota has designed and announced plans to release vehicles that enable those with limited mobility to enjoy as normal a life as possible. One of their latest innovations in this area is the Concept i Walk, a three‐wheeler that's been specially designed for this group of people. The vehicle's low‐access floor makes it easy for people with low mobility to get on and off. What also makes this vehicle user‐friendly is the integrated AI agent that monitors the road and warns the driver of any impending obstacles, thereby improving the driver's driving experience. Concept i Ride ‐ Wheelchair User‐Friendly Vehicle Designed for those who use wheelchairs, the Concept i Ride is a two‐seater car that also happens to be electric. Thanks to the gull‐wing doors that open upwards (unlike traditional side opening car doors) wheelchair users are able to navigate their way into the vehicle without problems. The sliding electric i Ride's seat guarantees an easy entry for both the driver and the user's wheelchair. The i Ride also has enough space to fit in a folded wheelchair in the back. Instead of a steering wheel, the i Ride has a joystick, along with an accelerator and brake pedals. The driver is not alone, however, as an AI agent is present to help navigate roads and provide useful information such as locations of wheelchair‐friendly establishments and parking spots. Toyota ‐ One Giant Step for Innovation, One Exciting Step for People with Low Mobility Thanks to Toyota's investments in innovation, progress is being made for people with low mobility. These cars will most likely be unveiled in the not‐too‐distant future. These Concept cars give us a look into the exciting future of mobility. The interactive agent Yui will make driving alone less lonesome, and more like a road trip with a pal. Toyota's forward‐thinking innovation is definitely causing many to become hopeful about driving themselves in cars again. After all, who wouldn't want to drive such a smart‐looking car that engages with them and knows their driving style? Image via www.toyota.com

Corolla

3 Surprising Ways the 2017 Corolla Excels

Yes, this budget-friendly economy car has been around since 1966. Its popularity hasn't diminished; if anything it keeps increasing, year by year. There are so many reasons why the 2017 Corolla, excels and sits in a class of its own. We have narrowed down and chosen the three best, most interesting, and lesser-known facts about this car and the company behind the car to help you understand why Toyota is a special car brand. Without further ado, here are the three surprising ways the 2017 Corolla excels. more 1. Toyota Has a Rigorous Production System In order to make a something of quality, you need to have reliable systems in place. This is a concept Toyota understands all too well. Toyota has a rigorous production system known as the Toyota Production System. Think of it as an automated assembly line where each car part produced is visually and physically inspected to make sure that it's up to standard. If any car part on the assembly line doesn't live up to Toyota's tough standards then the production of that particular Toyota is halted until that car part can be replaced. You can be sure that the 2017 Corolla has gone through this thorough vetting system to ensure that it's a reputable stellar car. 2. Manufactured in Toyota City, Designed in Los Angeles Toyota Corporation has its headquarters in Toyota City in Japan. This is where the majority of cars are manufactured. However, the design offices are in Los Angeles. Before a car even sees the light of day, Toyota's highly experienced and qualified engineers spend months poring over blueprints to make sure that any new car's dimensions are up to par. The car is then commissioned and built in Japan where it goes through the Toyota Production System. 3. Affordable Price Year After Year Have you ever wondered how Toyota can consistently bring out economical high-quality cars year after year? They are able to do this because of the strong ethics and sense of responsibility they have to stay true to the company's vision concerning Corollas. To Toyota, their corolla models are the people's car. Simply because they are inexpensive does not mean they have to be made cheaply. Instead, Toyota goes out of their way to design their Corollas to be as safe, as reliable, and as dependable as possible. This is why these cars are award-winning and have never failed a crash test. Toyota has managed to build a successful company through hard work, perseverance, and determination. Doing things methodically and staying true to their vision of producing affordable high-quality cars for the common person has really helped set them apart. It's no wonder the 2017 Corolla is able to excel and stand head and shoulders above other car brands. I mage via www.toyota.com

3 Toyota Models You Can't Miss in 2017

As the world's largest automaker, you'd think Toyota could ride its sales and reputation into the 2017 model year without changing much, if anything. However, that mentality would go against everything that's made Toyota one of the best and most popular cars on the road for the past 20 years. Every few years, Toyota brings conceptual ideas to the showroom floor or improve upon an already successful product. 2017 is no different. If you're planning to buy a new car this year, don't miss out on these awesome Toyota models. 1. The 86 You've probably heard someone use the phrase "86" to describe doing away with or being out of something. The Toyota 86, however, has a lot to offer. Perhaps it's an homage from Toyota to the discontinued Scion brand the produced the 86 in the form of the Scion FR-S, but that's entirely speculation. Regardless of its name origins, the 86 is one of the most eagerly anticipated models of 2017. The reason for such excitement is that Toyota hasn't had a true sports car since the demise of the now legendary Supra. While it might take some time to bring the 86 up to the Supra's level, it still has some nice power thanks to a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter straight four under the hood. This enables it to burst off the line in a 6.4-second zero-to-60 clip with a top speed of 136 miles per hour. Throw in an updated dashboard, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and Granluxe Interior accents, and the 86 is definitely a head-turner. more 2. Tacoma TRD Pro If you've ever looked for a truck that goes off-road as well as some of the SUVs on the market, you might have come up empty. However, Toyota looks to turn the tables by offering the Tacoma TRD Pro. This customized truck takes everything you love about the road-worthy Tacoma and mixes it with FOX 2.5 Internal Bypass Shocks, a front skid plate, and alloy wheels with Kevlar-reinforced Goodyear All-Terrain Tires. In addition, the TRD Pro adds attractive fog lights, LED headlights, and an intimidating grille. Inside, you'll find the Tacoma is every bit as luxurious as its siblings. Features include heated black leather front seats, an active safety alert system, and a 4.2-inch color driver's display. 3. Highlander While the 2017 Highlander isn't new to the Toyota lineup and it's not entering a new generation, it does offer a bevy of new amenities that make it stand out in comparison to 2016's edition. It starts with an updated 3.5-liter V-6 engine that replaces the stock 2.7-liter four-cylinder found on entry-level models. This engine comes with Start and Stop technology and an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission. Other new gadgets in the Highlander include five USB ports, LED lighting, three new exterior paint colors, painted headlight housings, and 19-inch alloy wheels. With all these features, the 2017 Highlander is more attractive than ever. Whether you're looking for a sports car, an off-road beast, or a great all-around vehicle, the 2017 Toyota lineup seems designed with you in mind.   Image via Flickr by Yuya Tamai

Value your trade | Priority Toyota Chesapeake

3 Ways to Value Your Trade-In

Are you wondering what your trade-in is really worth? How about whether there is anything you can do to get more for your trade-in? It is not easy to gauge the value of a trade-in, but there are tools that can help, like the Kelly Blue Book. Before you go car hunting, find out what to expect from your trade-in, so you shop smart. Go Online with Priority Toyota Priority Toyota in Chesapeake, Virginia, offers an online tool that helps you figure out how much your car is worth. It starts when you give information about your trade-in. The app has easy-to-use drop menus to get you there. On the top line, choose the year of the car you wish to trade. Next, name it by model — for example, pick a Toyota if your trade-in is a Corolla. more The app asks you to verify the trim of your car, as well. Trim refers to the feature configuration of the car you purchased, such as LE for the Corolla. Finally, enter the miles on the odometer of your trade-in, then press the button labeled "Go to Step 2." The next step discusses the condition of your car. You select: Excellent — The car is in almost new condition Average — If the trade-in has normal wear and tear, like minor chips Below Average — Select this option if the interior and/or exterior have problems. For instance, if the motor knocks or it has a ripped seat That app also asks you to identify the number of past owners for the trade-in. If you bought the car new, select "single." If you purchased a used vehicle, the answer is "multiple owners." The last step lets you pinpoint some of the features that increase the value of the trade-in. After you click on the options that fit your car, just press the "Get My PureCars Trade-in Report" to find out the value. Getting the Most Value for Your Trade-in Edmunds offers some tips to make sure you did get the best trade-in price for your car. Start with knowing how much the car is worth before you go to the dealership. The best way to find out what your car will sell for is to pretend that you want to sell it. Drive the car to a few used car dealerships and ask what they would pay to buy it. Don't settle for what the clerk tells you; ask the used car manager to take a look. Your gut may tell you to wash and detail the car before taking it in for a quote, but you are better off leaving it dirty. They are going to give you a more realistic quote if they think you are a serious seller. If the car has mechanical problems, own up to them. Fixing them beforehand is a waste of money, but disclose any issues to both the new dealer that is giving you a trade-in quote and the used car dealer telling you what is it worth. You may not get the exact trade-in value you expect, but at least you can get an idea ahead of time. This way there are no surprises when you do finally go new car shopping. The steering wheel has onboard auxiliary controls as well, for easy access. The interior provides a six-way adjustable driver's seat and four-way front passenger seat with a 60/40 split folding rear seat. You have full access to Toyota's Entune audio system complete with a 6-inch touchscreen, voice controls, six speakers, CD player, and an auxiliary audio jack. more The LE The next trim level up is the LE model. With the Corolla LE, you buy 16-inch alloy wheels instead of the 15-inch steel ones that come with the standard L. You also add heated mirrors, automatic climate control, and a rearview camera along with keyless entry, cruise control, and metallic cabin accents. The LE series sports the Toyota Entune Plus audio system that offers satellite and HD radio to the entertainment options, too. You can get the Scout GPS link app that provides smartphone navigation on the Corolla's touch-screen display. The LE Eco The LE Eco upgrades your purchase further by adding a more efficient engine and transmission to the package. This model comes complete with a 132 horsepower and 128 foot-pound torque engine and Toyota's Valvematic variable valve timing. The Eco provides 15-inch steel wheels as well, but they have low-rolling-resistance tires for more gas efficiency. As an added bonus, the Eco has a rear spoiler and enhanced aerodynamics. The interior options for the LE Eco are the same as what you get with the LE. If you opt for the LE Premium package, however, you add an eight-way power driver seat, heated front seats and SofTex vinyl upholstery. The S The "S" in this trim level stands for "sport." With this model, you get many of the same features you see in the LE trim, but with some cosmetic upgrades that make the car sportier. They include unique wheel covers, color-keyed mirrors with signal repeaters, a chrome exhaust tip, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, sports instrumentation, and a trip computer. A rear spoiler is standard with this trim, too. Deciding on a Toyota Corolla doesn't mean you finish making choices.
