2018 Toyota TundraThe 2018 Tundra boasts an aggressive styling, a handsomely finished interior, and lackaccented 20‐in alloy wheels. The American assembled unit bears the pride of an entire nation like a champ. If you own, have ridden in or driven one of these full‐size pickup trucks then you would be familiar with some if not most of its specs. You may have noticed or learned that the regular cab is no longer available, and that the Pro trim has been discontinued. It’s pretty hard to have missed the spacious rear seats and userfriendly infotainment system.

It takes time and some diligence to learn everything about a unit, so there are a few things that may have skipped your notice. Your Priority Toyota Chesapeake dealership has you covered. New TRD Sport Styling

Designed to ensure Toyota Racing Development’s (TDR’s) revered performance reputation remains protected, this Sport Package features exclusive styling touches which include a powerful hood scoop and black‐accented 20‐in. alloy wheels.

Heated Windows – Platinum Model

The Tundra Platinum sports chrome heated power and auto‐dimming exterior mirrors equipped with turn signal and blind spot warning indicators. It also has memory features, puddle lights, and power‐folding reverse tilt‐down. The chrome heated power, auto‐dimming exterior mirrors are only available for vehicles equipped with factory remote keyless entry system or Smart Key System.

State‐of‐the‐Art Anti‐Theft System

The engine immobilizer is a state‐of‐the‐art anti‐theft system. An electronic code is transmitted to the vehicle when the key is inserted into the ignition switch or a Smart Kay fob is brought into the vehicle. The truck will only start if the code transmitted from the transponder chip matches the code in the immobilizer. The transponder chip is embedded in the key/fob and can cost a pretty peen to replace. In the event your key is lost, you can consult your local Toyota dealer for assistance or a qualified independent locksmith.

Automatic High Beams Limitations

The Automatic High Beams operate at speeds above 25 mph, but its performance can be affected certain factors to include a dirty windshield, weather conditions, lightening, and terrain. In such an event the driver will have to operate the beams manually.

Safety

The SR5, Limited, and Platinum are equipped with the following safety features: Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS‐P), Pre‐Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), with Sway Warning System (SWS), Automatic High Beams (AHB) and Full‐Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).

While the Tundra still relies on the six‐speed automatic, the transmission provides crisp upshifts, with any stumble during the maneuver and quickly downshifts into the right gear. The trucks impressive off‐road capabilities can be improved even further with the TD Off‐Road package. This package increases the Tundra’s ability to handle rough terrain such as hills, water, and mud. The seats of the Tundra are comfortable, and especially so for the higher trims.
