2018 Toyota RAV4 HybridThe 2018 Toyota RAV4 SE Hybrid is a great choice for city driving. If you’re looking for an efficient vehicle to help with daily urban commutes, consider these features of this new RAV4 trim that make it a good choice for traversing city streets.

  1. Efficiency

If you’re considering a hybrid, fuel efficiency is likely a priority for you. Indeed, this is one of the biggest selling points of the 2018 RAV4 SE Hybrid. The RAV4 is available in three hybrid trims, and each provides wonderful economy so you can make multiple trips around town on a single tank. The vehicles have a total driving range of roughly 475 miles before needing to fuel up.

The XLE Hybrid, SE Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid all get 34 mpg in the city, 30 on the highway, and 32 combined. The starting MSRP for these vehicles is $29,280, $32,435, and $34,280, respectively.

  1. Low Emissions

In addition to not consuming much gasoline, the SE Hybrid is a super ultra-low emission vehicle. It’s an electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive SUV equipped with Toyota’s powertrain technology. All RAV4 hybrids run on a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. This configuration delivers 194 net horsepower between the electric motor and gasoline engine.

  1. Maneuverability

With high total horsepower and sporty acceleration, especially for a hybrid, this RAV4 is great for getting up to speed quickly in stop-and-go traffic or for having to merge onto the freeway without much runway. But the Hybrid SE’s size is also beneficial for maneuverability in urban areas.

This is a compact SUV, so tight streets and narrow parking spaces aren’t as much of a hassle as they would be in a midsize or full SUV. You can even add front and rear parking sonar through an optional package, which is an extremely helpful technology for making parallel maneuvers or when you have to squeeze into or out of a tight space.

  1. ToyotaCare

Every new RAV4 comes with a free two-year maintenance plan called ToyotaCare. This service is good for up to 25,000 miles and includes complimentary scheduled service checks. You also get free 24-hour roadside assistance for the duration of the program.

  1. Safety Features

If you’re an experienced city driver, you know that other vehicles on the road can be a serious hazard. No matter how defensively everyone drives, some accidents are unavoidable. But with the SE Hybrid’s suite of safety technologies, you can avoid collisions and stay safe should an accident occur. Standard technologies in the SE Hybrid include pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and dynamic radar cruise control.

These are just a few of the features included with Toyota Safety Sense P. A comprehensive air bag system and other passive technologies are also standard. The 2018 SE Hybrid has received a five-star overall NHTSA safety rating.

The RAV4 is a top-rated compact SUV for some obvious reasons. Especially as a hybrid configuration, you get a vehicle with excellent fuel economy, lots of space for a compact, and ample utility. Check out the SE Hybrid and other vehicles in the current inventory at Priority Toyota.
