Just up the road in Norfolk at 150 Park Avenue is Harbor Park, home of the Norfolk Tides AAA minor league professional baseball team. An affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, the Tides entertain crowds in their 10,000-plus-seat stadium on the shores of the Elizabeth River. While you’re there, enjoy traditional concessions like hot dogs and pretzels or, for a heartier meal, try “Hits at the Park,” the Tides’ 225-seat on-site restaurant that offers a full view of the field.

Norfolk Admirals

If indoor sports are more to your liking, catch a match at Scope Area at 201 East Brambleton Avenue in Norfolk, home of the Norfolk Admirals professional hockey team. A minor league team affiliated with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Chicago Wolves, a night watching the Admirals is exciting and fun for the entire family. When you’re hungry, there are plenty of concessions along with a restaurant, The Pub, serving dishes like Coconut Cod and Smokehouse Wings.

Old Dominion Monarchs

A fast-moving game of basketball is hard to beat! Come out and watch Old Dominion University’s NCAA Division I college basketball team, The Monarchs, play at Chartway Arena on the ODU campus at 4320 Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk. The thrill of the game, along with the cheerleaders, dancers, and band, makes for an unforgettable experience with family and friends. Classic concessions, along with treats like BBQ and funnel fries, are available, so no one leaves hungry.

Virginia Beach City FC

Your stylish, rugged Toyota 4Runner is roomy enough to seat the entire family for a trip to Powhatan Field at 4251 Powhatan Avenue in Norfolk to catch a Virginia Beach City professional soccer game. With top-three finishes in the Mid-Atlantic conference every season since their formation, there’s a very good chance this home team will prevail. Listen as Neptune’s Armada, the team’s fan club, perform chants and songs to energize the crowd to cheer on the team!
