Located in Chesapeake, this 130-acre park is home to 65 acres of hardwood forest and wetlands. The park features pines, maples, and tulip poplars. There are several spots along these trails where you can stop, snap a photo, and take in the breathtaking scenery – all while enjoying the majesty of nature.

Windsor Castle Park

Windsor Castle Park is a 208-acre wooded park with a network of walking trails that weave in and out of the woods. The park features a picnic area, open spaces, and a woodland trail system perfect for hiking and birdwatching. Visitors can see a wide variety of bird species, from bald eagles to woodpeckers. Stumpy Lake Natural Area

Stumpy Lake Natural Area is a scenic getaway close to home. With 1,422 acres, including a 278-acre lake reservoir, Stumpy Lake is located just 11 miles from Chesapeake, and is an excellent spot for birdwatching and photography.
If you’re interested in getting some exercise while enjoying the gorgeous views of the lake, there are miles of soft surface trails that wind through the park. These trails are great for any fitness level, and the canoe launch is ADA-compliant. If you’d prefer to take it easy and bask in some beautiful scenery, you’ll love watching sunsets from one of the many areas around the lake where visitors can sit down and relax on benches or picnic tables.
