Brunch | Priority Toyota Chesapeake in Chesapeake, VAThere’s nothing that brings friends and family together quite like a good brunch! Many people want to go out and have a delicious meal in the morning, but just want more time to sleep in – this is where brunch comes in. Eating waffles, or omelets, or quiche in the late morning makes you feel awake and alive, so we’ve compiled a list of some of the best brunch places in and around Chesapeake, VA!

1. The Egg Bistro

Located a short drive away in nearby Virginia Beach, The Egg Bistro prides itself on preparing innovative and creative dishes in a cool environment that’s still welcoming to all of the family. Some of their most famous creations are The Don and the BYO Breakfast Sandwich, as they are both filling and delicious. But our favorites have to be the breakfast bowls. Make sure to try the Chorizo Bowl, which is made with spicy chorizo sausage and pico de gallo. It’s a must-try!

2. Toast

Brunch at Toast is served on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, so clear your weekend mornings to grab a bite! They offer classic egg-based dishes like Eggs Italia, which consists of 3 soft-boiled eggs with mixed greens, roasted vegetables, and shaved parmesan cheese; and Quiche Me, with a flaky pastry crust that will leave you wanting more and more.
For more options, Toast also prepares chili and grits bowls that are as hearty as they come, and some of the best French toast we’ve ever tried.

3. Jesse’s Place

For those looking for plain old, down-home, old-fashioned cooking, look no further. Jesse’s place is the place for you. Its establishment is unassuming and quaint, making the flavors that burst out of the kitchen all that more surprising and delightful. If you go, you absolutely have to try the smothered pork fritter, which honestly is big enough for two people, if not three! Breakfast is on the menu all day long at Jesse’s, but they close at 3 pm, so don’t sleep in too long!

4. Yoolks On Us

The next entry on our list specializes in one thing and does it better than anyone else in the business: southern cooking. Going to Yoolks On Us feels like going to grandma’s house when you’re ten years old and having some of the best food of your life. If you go and are a little bit intimidated by their great choices on the menu, we recommend you play it safe and order the chicken and waffles. They’re made with amazingly sweet maple syrup and fresh waffles that even grandma would be jealous of!

5. The Bee & The Biscuit

The Bee & The Biscuit is a perfect brunch restaurant because their dishes are a bit lighter than others. They specialize in granola and yogurt bowls and other fresh-from-the-garden choices. This modern, healthy establishment is quickly becoming one of our go-to spots!

Start making your plans today to try out one – or all! – of these scrumptious spots and who knows, you might just find a new favorite!
